Just spent a week at a yoga retreat with a friend. Best idea we’ve ever had. My yoga teacher Kyle Miller emailed me this today and I am really into the entire non-grasping concept:
“Focus this week: aparigraha= greedlessness/non-hoarding/non-grasping
Ever notice how people don’t like to be grasped at? How hoarding things doesn’t make you feel abundant but like you need more? How being greedy puts you in a mind state of selfishness and smallness?
This week we will examine aparigraha, one of 5 vows (yamas) undertaken by the yogi, as a means of transitioning from a place of feeling desperate and needy to a place of abundance. We will try to balance effort and grace so that we can move on our mats and through the world with composure. Let us embody grace, generosity and abundance!”
